Booking a band for your wedding or event often leads to many questions. Here's a list of questions we're frequently asked, along with things you may need to consider when booking a band. How Long Does The Band Play?
Dynamix will play 2 hours of live music. This is usually split between 2 sets of 1 hour, but we're happy to play 3 sets of 40 minutes if that better suits the event.
How Long Does The Acoustic Duo Play?
The acoustic duo will play up to 90 minutes, split between 2 sets. Or if preferred, we can play 1 set of 60 minutes. This is the ideal accompaniment to your wedding breakfast, event dinner or drinks reception.
Can We Choose the Songs?
We have an extensive repertoire and will learn a song of your choice for your first dance, or for a special moment in the evening. You can also let us know which songs from our repertoire you'd love to hear (or which ones you don't!). We recommend picking just a few to give us a sense of your musical tastes, but allowing us enough freedom to "read the room" on the night and keep your dancefloor full!
Do You Play Music Between Sets?
Yes! We will provide music before, between and up to one hour after the band have played. If your'e planning to party late, we can provide music late into the night for an additional fee.
How Far Will the Band Travel?
Dynamix are based in Sheffield, but play events worldwide. Our quotes take distance into consideration, so please get in touch for your personalised quote. Events further afield may also incur a charge for an overnight stay.
Do the Band Provide Equipment?
Yes! Dynamix provide high quality audio equipment and lighting, suitable for audiences up to 500 people. If your event is larger, we will tailor a quote to include the hire of any additional equipment needed. All of our equipment is PAT Tested annually and we hold Public Liability Insurance.
What Time Do the Band Arrive/Finish?
When playing weddings, the band usually arrive and set up at 6pm, after your speeches. We're then ready to start with the first dance, usually at 8pm. We appreciate your day may run differently and are happy to party with you until midnight. Most wedding venues have a live music curfew of 11pm, but if you're lucky enough to be able to party later, Dynamix can be booked beyond midnight for an additional fee.
What Do We Need to Provide For The Band?
We ask for a room to keep our belongings and to change. Preferably one that locks and will not need to be accessed by staff or guests. It's also a very long day for our musicians and we're often travelling a fair distance, so soft drinks, coffee and a hot meal are hugely appreciated!
